Paper Quilling Blue Paisley with Nazar Symbol

This specially designed artwork is paper quilling blue paisley with nazar symbols and flowers. It contains paisley pattern which is a traditional Persian design called bote jeghe.

Paisley or paisley pattern is an ornamental textile design using the boteh (Persian: بته) or buta, a teardrop-shaped motif with a curved upper end. Of Persian origin, paisley designs became popular in the West in the 18th and 19th centuries, following imports of post-Mughal Empire versions of the design from India, especially in the form of Kashmir shawls, and were then replicated locally. A nazar, word deriving from Arabic, meaning sight, surveillance, attention, and other related concepts) is an eye-shaped amulet believed to protect against the evil eye. In Turkey, it is known as nazar boncuğu, in Greece is known as mati (the evil eye). In Persian and Afghan folklore, it is called cheshm nazar or nazar qurbāni. In India and Pakistan, the Hindi-Urdu slogan Chashm-e-Baddoor is used to ward off the evil eye. (source: Wikipedia)
